IFUGAO  TRIBE:
WARRIOR'S BOAR TUSK BRACELET #3
CARVED WOOD, RATTAN, BOAR TUSK, HAIR

A “Tangkil” boar's tusk armlet with a small standing wooden "Bulul" figurine from the Ifugao tribe in northern Luzon, Philippines. Made of two wild boar’s tusks, lashed together with rattan to form a circle! This armlet is worn on the upper arm by Bontoc and Ifugao tribal warriors as an ornament before head hunting. The boar’s tusk impart the ferocity, endurance, and strength of a wild boar. (reference: “Form and Splendor”, Roberto Maramba, pages 78-83, for similar tangkils).
